1. Why is it sometimes a good thing to polish fossils?
ANSWER: To reveal extra detail.
2. Animal fossils are much more popular with collectors than plant fossils but why are plant fossils just as important?
ANSWER: Because they give us lots of information about the period.
3. Look at the rings on the close up picture. Can you work out what these are? (You may need google for this one).
ANSWER: They are called ‘Growth rings’ and every tree has them. It shows how old the tree was when it died.
